The main part of the Boehringer Ingelheim RCV funded WASH project at Gwengdiya Primary School was the drilling of a borehole and the installation of an India Mark II handpump. This pump serves the over 1,000 pupils, teachers and surrounding community members. It saves the school valuable time in fetching water, time that now can be utilized for education. It also helps the school improve its cleanliness and hygiene, thereby reducing the disease risk.

This Friday in a small ceremony, the borehole and pump were officially handed over to the school by PACHEDO. The school management, students and community members expressed their appreciation to Boehringer Ingelheim RCV and PACHEDO for their gracious donation.
